MESSIN’ WITH THE MUSIC – CREATIVE MUSIC MAKING
Oct 2013 in St. Joseph’s Post Primary School, Charlestown

MESSIN WITH THE MUSIC comprised series of creative music making workshops aimed at young people. Participants spent time getting to know each other with a chance to ‘jam’ together whilst developing theoretical skills involved with musical creativity. Participants were split into ensembles with the facilitators as mentors building upon all objectives throughout the week. This culminated in each band having an original piece of music prepared that they performed live to an audience for the grand finale of the programme.
Throughout the week participants learned the fundamentals of composition, songwriting, music theory, performance, rhythm, improvisation and musicianship in a fun and relaxed environment.
